WolvoCo LLC ("WolvoCo," "we," "us," or "our") operates StayJournal. This policy explains how StayJournal handles information. StayJournal is designed as a personal, device-first travel journal, but some optional and automatic travel-planning features use online services.

1. Information Stored on Your Device

Your stays, dates, hotel details, ratings, notes, room details, booking references, saved ideas, and preferences are stored on your device so StayJournal can build your personal travel journal.

StayJournal does not require an account, sign-in, or public profile.

Your notes, room details, and booking references may include personal or sensitive information if you choose to enter them. Do not store payment-card, passport, government-ID, medical, or other highly sensitive information in the app.

We do not receive or host the full contents of your local journal merely because you use the app.

2. Online Features and Information Sent

When you use search, recommendations, maps, weather, routing, currency, holiday, safety, tipping, or transportation features, the app sends the information needed to provide that feature. This can include a hotel or destination name, city, country, hotel coordinates, check-in date, selected trip type, search terms, and ordinary device network information.

Personalized recommendations may send limited preference signals derived from your journal, such as liked hotel names or brands, preference tags, disliked tags, destination, trip type, and candidate hotel details. Your free-form notes, room numbers, and confirmation numbers are not included in these AI requests.

For App Store privacy disclosures, this limited information is described as Search History, Other User Content, and Other Data. We use it for app functionality and, when you ask for recommendations, product personalization. It is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across apps or websites.

Current providers and data sources include OpenAI, Google Maps Platform, Open-Meteo, Apple Maps or Google Maps when you open directions, OpenStreetMap-based routing, CARTO/OpenStreetMap web maps, ExchangeRate-API, Nager.Date, and Wikimedia/Wikipedia. Their handling of information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

StayJournal uses Google Maps Platform for hotel search and place photos. Your use of Google Maps Platform features is subject to the [Google Maps Platform Terms of Service](https://maps.google.com/help/terms_maps/) and [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy).

Some online features may load automatically when you view a relevant screen. StayJournal does not use these features to collect your live device location; it uses a hotel location saved in your journal or selected in search.

3. AI-Assisted Recommendations

StayJournal uses OpenAI API services to help create hotel search queries and personalized recommendation text. AI output is generated from the limited travel-preference and hotel information described above.

AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your circumstances. Verify hotel details, prices, availability, amenities, safety, and suitability before relying on it or making a booking decision.

OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default. OpenAI may retain API content in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, subject to its policies and legal obligations.

To improve speed and avoid repeated requests, StayJournal may keep limited recommendation inputs and outputs in short-term operational caches for up to 30 days. These caches are not designed to identify you by name or account because StayJournal does not require an account.

4. Sharing You Choose

Some sharing happens only when you choose it.

Export creates a readable backup file that you choose where to save or share. Protect it like any other file containing your travel history and notes. Once you share it, the recipient or storage service handles it under its own practices.

Directions can open Apple Maps or Google Maps with a hotel location.

A booking inquiry can open a pre-filled email draft. You review and send that email yourself. If you send it to StayJournal, the contents may be shared with an independent travel advisor affiliated with Fora Travel, Inc. for follow-up. Do not include payment-card, passport, government-ID, medical, or other highly sensitive information in that email.

5. Storage, Backups, and Deletion

Your journal is stored locally on your device. You can edit or delete stays in the app and export a backup file whenever you choose.

A recovery snapshot may be included in your device or cloud backup when your operating system and backup settings support it. WolvoCo does not control those backups.

Deleting the app or clearing its device storage can remove your local journal unless you restore it from a device backup or exported file.

Deletion does not necessarily remove information already sent to or retained by an independent provider under its own policy.

6. Diagnostics and Security

Our service infrastructure may process technical information such as IP address, request timing, device or browser details, and error information to operate, secure, rate-limit, and troubleshoot StayJournal.

StayJournal removes query strings from its application request logs where practical. We do not use this information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

If crash reporting is enabled in a production build, we may send crash and technical diagnostic information to Sentry to diagnose failures. We configure it for crash reporting only and do not intentionally send journal content.

7. No Sale or Cross-Context Behavioral Advertising

We do not sell your travel journal or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly use your journal information to build advertising profiles across unrelated apps or websites.

8. Children, Your Choices, and Contact

StayJournal is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we have knowingly received personal information from a child under 13 outside the limited device-first operation described here, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

You can delete local stays and ideas in the app, delete the app, manage device backups, and choose whether to export or share a backup file.

For privacy questions, requests, or concerns about information WolvoCo controls, email hello@stayjournal.app. We may need information to verify and respond to a request. Information held by another provider may need to be requested directly from that provider.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as StayJournal changes. If we make a material change, we will update the date above and provide notice in the app or through another reasonable method when required by law.
